Cheatham County


If you want small town charm but close to a big city than Cheatham County is the place to call home.  With just a 20 minutes drive to downtown Nashville, TN, this county gives you big city and small town all in one. With its unmatched beauty of Ashland City, Kingston Springs, Pegram and Pleasant View, there is something for everyone in Cheatham County.

Cheatham County was created on February 28, 1865 by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly and named after Edward S. Cheatham, who was speaker of the State Senate.


Its courthouse was built in Ashland City in 1869 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.  It stands as a reminder of all the rich history that Cheatham County has to offer. This is a growing area for residents who want to be near Nashville, but like a bit more rural feel.


There is something for everyone in Cheatham County, rich in history with a wide range of restaurants, lots of woods, water activities and shopping.
