Lewis County
Lewis County is located in Middle Tennessee, southwest of Nashville and established in 1843 named after Meriwether Lewis, an explorer, who died and was buried at Grinder's Stand near Hohenwald in 1809.

Enjoy a county full of historical museums, fine vineyards, delicious cuisine, and scenic countryside. The Natchez Trace Parkway runs through Lewis County on its way to Mississippi.
Even our animals call this county home, housing an Elephant Sanctuary that cares for our large animal friends. There is also a horse rescue, Horse Plus Humane Society.
